Looking Beyond the LyxPro 36 Inch Electric Guitar? 6 Alternatives Worth a Look

How alternatives compare to LyxPro

GLARRY Full Size Electric Guitar Kit with 20W Amp

The GLARRY Full Size Electric Guitar Kit steps up to a 39-inch scale, offering more room for growing players than the LyxPro 36-inch model. It retains the 20W amplifier included in the LyxPro bundle, ensuring you have amplification right away. The build uses basswood rather than the LyxPro’s maple neck and rosewood fretboard, which may feel lighter but lacks the tonal warmth of hardwoods. This kit is ideal for beginners who need a larger instrument but still want a complete, all-in-one package with essential accessories. You trade the LyxPro’s specific wood combination for a more standard, budget-friendly construction that prioritizes value and ease of use for home practice.

LyxPro 30-Inch Kids Electric Guitar Kit

The LyxPro 30-Inch Kids Electric Guitar Kit shrinks the scale down to 30 inches, making it a better fit for smaller children than the 36-inch original. It keeps the same brand heritage, including the 20W amplifier and complete accessory set, so you get a similar user experience. The reduced size means shorter reach for frets and a lighter overall feel, which helps younger players maintain proper posture. This option is best for beginners under 9 years old or those with smaller hands who find the 36-inch model too bulky. You sacrifice some playability for older teens in exchange for a more manageable instrument that fits smaller frames comfortably.

Donner DST-100B 39 Inch Beginner Kit

The Donner DST-100B 39 Inch Beginner Kit offers a 39-inch scale, providing a larger playing surface than the LyxPro 36-inch guitar. It includes a portable amplifier, maintaining the convenience of an all-in-one starter package. The black finish offers a different aesthetic compared to the LyxPro’s red option. This kit is designed for beginners who want a slightly larger instrument than the 36-inch model but still prefer a compact setup. It provides a practical entry point with silent practice capabilities, which is useful for apartment living. You gain more scale length and a versatile color choice, though you may need to check specific wood specifications if tonal preference is your primary concern.

Donner 30 Inch Kids Electric Guitar Kit

The Donner 30 Inch Kids Electric Guitar Kit provides a 30-inch scale, significantly smaller than the LyxPro 36-inch model. It includes an amplifier, ensuring you have a complete setup for immediate use. The red color matches the LyxPro option, maintaining visual consistency if you have multiple instruments. This kit is tailored for young beginners who need a manageable size for their hands and arms. It offers a practical start for kids who find the 36-inch guitar too large. You trade the LyxPro’s slightly larger scale for a more compact instrument that is easier to handle for younger players. The included accessories make it a straightforward choice for parents seeking a ready-to-play solution for small children.

LyxPro Full Size Electric Guitar with 20W Amp

The LyxPro Full Size Electric Guitar with 20W Amp increases the scale to 39 inches, offering a larger playing area than the 36-inch original. It keeps the 20W amplifier and complete accessory bundle, ensuring you get a full setup. The sunburst finish provides a classic look distinct from the red option. This model is suitable for beginners who are ready for a standard-sized instrument but still want the convenience of an all-in-one kit. You gain more scale length and a traditional aesthetic, making it a better long-term option for growing players. The LyxPro brand consistency ensures familiar ergonomics, while the larger size accommodates more advanced techniques as your skills develop.

RVONE RST-150 39-Inch HSS Electric Guitar Kit

The RVONE RST-150 39-Inch HSS Electric Guitar Kit offers a 39-inch scale, providing more fretboard space than the LyxPro 36-inch model. It features HSS pickups, which offer greater tonal versatility compared to the unspecified pickups in the LyxPro kit. The solid ash body provides a different resonance and weight profile. This kit is ideal for beginners who want to explore different sounds and need a larger instrument. It supports silent practice, adding flexibility for home use. You trade the LyxPro’s complete accessory bundle for a focus on tonal range and build quality. This option suits players who prioritize sound variety and a standard scale length over a pre-packaged starter experience.
